HILL ‘N HOLLOW QUILTERS GUILD UNVEILS 2012 FUNDRAISER QUILT

Hill ‘N Hollow Quilters Guild members were the first to view the Guild’s 2012  fundraising quilt, “The Jewel Box”,  at their January 13 guild meeting.  The quilt will be on display at various community events throughout the year with the drawing to be held December 14, 2012.

This paper foundation pieced quilt features jewel tone fabrics on a white background with a saw tooth border, includes two pillow shams, and measures 92 ½” X 101 ½”.  Machine quilting was by Guild member, Mary Ann Geisy.    Production of the quilt was chaired by guild member, Bonita Ratzel.

Nancy Mahoney www.nancymahoney.com designed the quilt as “Pineapple Salsa”, and it was featured in the September-October 2010 issue of Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting magazine.

Proceeds from the quilt help the Guild to continue community quilt donations to:

  • · disaster victims,
  • · wounded military veterans through Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom Post Deployment Care Clinic – Little Rock

Approximately 4,800 quilts have been donated by the guild members since 1990.
